Hugh A White was among the first African American professional bail bondsman in South Carolina. He was founder and owner of ABC Bonding Company and provided nationwide bail-bonding services from two locations in Columbia,SC. Hugh was the founder of Professional Bail Agents of South Carolina. In 2005 Hugh was inducted into the South Carolina Bail Agents Association Hall of Frame. 

Hugh is survived by his wife, Edith W. Schuller White; and daughter Edith "Anna" White current owners of ABC Bonding Company.
